Yuka Murakami
Yuka Murakami is a New York-based artist and filmmaker. Her practice began in experimental sound, then in documentary filmmaking as a camera operator and editor. She holds a BA in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego, and an MFA in Film Directing from the California Institute of the Arts. She received the 2021 Alison Doerner Award and a 2020 Emmy Award for Producer.
Her films have screened at numerous festivals and exhibitions across the country, including LAAPFF, DOC NYC, CAAM, Gene Siskel Film Center, Smithsonian, LA Conservancy, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, San Diego Art Institute, and more.
