Terra Velha is a visual and sonic study of disparate landscapes within the Azores Islands, an archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean. Structured through a series of static compositions, these sites exude traces of familiar but illusory cultural memory and a family history marked by diaspora. Through contemplative observation, the elements of the landscapes gradually oscillate, notions of homeland and origin combine in an impressionistic memory, going back in time to the moment of their volcanic birth.
