The "magician of cinema", Georges Méliès makes his first appearance at the ECRÃ Festival with his short film Satã na Prisão, performed musically by pianist Cadu Fausto. The musician created a melody and arrangement to accompany the film in this performance that opens the event. The work will later be available in an interactive format.

Cadu Fausto and Georges Méliès
Cadu Fausto
Cadu Fausto graduated from the Villa Lobos School of Music (Paracambi) in the Basic Music Course. He is currently studying for a degree in music at UNIRIO (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro). He is part of the vocal group Consoantes, at UNIRIO, under the guidance of Professor Carlos Alberto Figueiredo and works as a monitor in the Cesgranrio Scenic Choir.
Georges Méliès
Georges Méliès (1861-1938), French illusionist and filmmaker, a pioneer of several cinema techniques.
