LYZ PARAYZO - ARTIST OF THE END OF THE WORLD

LYZ PARAYZO - ARTIST OF THE END OF THE WORLD

Fernando Santana

Brazil

2019

Film

Short

This independent work follows the beginning of the artistic career of Lyz Parayzo, a visual artist who, through her works and performances, raises the question of what is the place of art in a non-binary body from the outskirts. Lyz uses her body as her main work support and her daily performativity as a research platform, revealing the mismatch between what is said, what is done, discourse and practice. Due to the lack of authorization, interference, and unwanted inclusion, she questions the free school that does not allow freedom, the art gallery that does not include the unsellable, the institutional space that assimilates transgression as long as it is already incorporated by the system.
