Rumi, the 13th century Sufi poet, scholar, theologian and mystic, in his famous Masnavi (Book I), asked a profound question: “Since all colors emerged from the void of colorlessness, how can color struggle with colorlessness?” Of Color (2019) is the story of light, after being born from the dark void that precedes the universe, it disperses into red, green and blue and from there into all the various colors of the visible spectrum, emerging and flowing into each other, creating all possible forms of hue. After the lifespan of light, it returns to the primordial state of the dark void of “Chaos.”
