Through the use of archival footage and screen-on-screen editing so fashionable in the early 1980s, 1982 examines Argentine media coverage of the Falklands War, exemplifying how propaganda can be used by governments to manipulate a country's opinions and lead it to believe its troops are winning a battle that was lost from the start.

Lucas Gallo

Gallo’s work is characterized by the constant search for and exploration of limits and frontiers in different audiovisual genres. In this constant flirtation between traditional documentary, guided fiction, experimental cinema and video art, Gallo indulges in the mix and the game, fighting against all forms of solemnity. The appropriation of symbolic images and generally of an official nature has also been a very conscious tool for generating jobs where, through demystification and humor, we can try to think about power and contemporary culture.
