Claude Ciccolella lives in Marseille, France, where he studied physics, oceanology, automation and computer science at the Universities of Marseille, before earning a doctorate in marine biology and automation of aquaculture stations.

After working in Paris on a computer network for a pharmaceutical company, he turned to sculpture, monochrome and, in 1998, to video.

At the end of the 1990s, he submitted a draft of the beginning of a thesis on monochrome to the Sorbonne in Paris. The rector does not know in which specific area, philosophy, art history or fine arts, this thesis could have been oriented.

In 2000, he co-created Images contre nature, an international experimental video festival in Marseille, of which he was curator and programmer. This festival, whose programs are based on the analysis of the moving image -animated -space -identity -long -movement -perception -meaning -time, has lasted 18 years.fivz

Between 1999 and 2024, he created thirty-six videos, including short and feature films, which have been shown at festivals, museums, on TV and in exhibitions. The videos were made with theatre directors, actors, musicians and visual artists, and some have received numerous awards.

From 2010, he participated in the creation of the Chartreux theatre in Marseille. He will be the light and sound manager for 7 years.

In 2018, his installation Quadriptych 12.08.02, on entropy, antimatter and string theory, was shown at the École Supérieure d'Art in Aix-en-Provence/France.

From 2019, he became a professor of physics, chemistry and mathematics at higher and secondary schools.

In 2023, his installation Quadriptych 06.02.04, about the trauma of the natural disaster, was exhibited at the École Supérieure de l'Art de Aix-en-Provence/France.

The themes of his work: disappearance, color, matter, entropy, antimatter, string theory, improvisation, existentialism; an adventure of audiovisual creation.
