Curta-Metragem

In Karaiw a'e wà, a video art developed by Zahy and Candombá, the artists reclaim the word “karaiw”, which means civilized, to question the construction of the indigenous person as “savage” and “barbaric”, an image rooted in colonialism.

Karaiw a'e wà considers Indigenous Futurism as a methodology to combat the historical eradication of indigenous knowledge, technologies and creative forms.
