Augusto Calçada (1990) is a Brazilian multimedia artist and researcher, graduated in Social Communication and Media from FIRB, with a specialization in Modern and Contemporary Art from MoMA in New York. In his projects, he seeks an innovative and experimental approach that encourages the public to reflect on issues related to identity, society, memory, territories and culture. The artist develops his works using different media, such as installations, video art, cinema, experimental TV series, virtual reality, digital photography and design. His projects challenge conventional logic, social mechanisms and interfaces, and have been exhibited in more than 25 countries, such as the Athens Digital Arts Festival (ADAF), Transmediale 2024 in Berlin, the International Video Art Forum in Saudi Arabia, /'fu:bar/ in Croatia, the Museum of Image and Sound in Brazil and The Wrong Biennale. Augusto is the curator of the art, technology and science exhibition ecoSYNTH and founder of the research group Terrabytes Glitch Lab.
