(Hilda Hilst) Rapacity is a film-essay on the layers of temporalities contained in the urban landscapes of the port region of Rio de Janeiro. A complex collage of sounds, archival materials and images that record the last 10 years of urban reforms.

Julia De Simone, Ricardo Pretti
Julia De Simone (RJ, 1982) is a director, screenwriter and producer. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Contemporary Arts Studies (UFF) and graduated in ‘Creative Documentary’ from the Observatório de Cine in Barcelona. A member of Mirada Filmes, she has dedicated herself to audiovisual production since 2003. Praia Formosa (Tiger Rotterdam, 2024) is her first feature-length fiction film, a Brazil-Portugal co-production supported by the Hubert Bals Fund and the World Cinema Fund. She has directed several documentary and experimental films that have been screened and awarded at festivals such as IDFA, Rotterdam, BAFICI, Cartagena, Uruguay, Havana, FICUNAM, Tiradentes, Festival do Rio, Mostra de São Paulo, among others. She also works as a teacher, project consultant and collaborator on audiovisual selection committees. Ricardo Pretti (RJ, 1982) is the co-founder of the Ceará-based production company Alumbramento, which in the last ten years has produced 15 feature films, 30 short films and had 05 retrospectives (Cinemateca de Paris, Caixa Cultural do Rio de Janeiro, Festival Internacional de Lima, Sesc de Belo Horizonte and Centro cultural Dragão do Mar). Director and co-director of seven feature films, all shown at festivals in Brazil (Brasília, Tiradentes, Festival do Rio, Janela de Cinema do Recife, Mostra de São Paulo, among others) and abroad (Locarno, Rotterdam, Viennale, Munique, BAFICI, FIDMarseille, CPHPIX, TransCinema, among others), receiving numerous awards and accolades.
