The space between real and phantasmal ecological dread. An ambivalent lament for the disappearing palm trees of Los Angeles and a sermon on doomsday infrastructure delivered to no one. Destruction and desire conflated in superficial abrasions.
"Terminal Island is a portrait of Paradise Lost. Los Angeles, California, is a place of immense beauty and a perfect climate, but it is also a nucleus of ecological dread. Polluted skies, overdevelopment and the death of the iconic (and invasive) LA palm tree are some of the clues that Movie City is in trouble."
