A portrait of the tensions that make up the Serra da Capivara National Park, a conservation unit in the backlands of Piauí, Brazil, which is home to several archaeological sites with remains, from cave paintings to prehistoric artifacts, which challenge the theory of how man entered the American continent. The film proposes a cartography of some of the agents involved in the existence of the conservation area, exploring the many implications of the existence of the national park: from the conservation of ancient images as a heritage of humanity; to the lesser history and hauntings of the local population, whose homes and communities were expelled from the area where the reserve is located; to the remains and past and present lives of different species of animals and plants; and, finally, to the materiality of the space itself, witness to all the many changes that have occurred over time.
