The Moon Also Rises depicts a nocturnal community driven by efficiency and connectivity. Under the authority of perpetual lights, its environment is characterized by an overwhelming presence of light that replaces darkness and shadow with a homogeneous brightness. The film portrays the capitalist myth of the immateriality of technology and attempts to trace "light" back to its earthly origins.

Yuyan Wang
Multidisciplinary filmmaker and artist. Her work focuses on the impact of image-making on media, representation and the attention economy. By deconstructing and recontextualizing, and smoothing out the meanings inherent in found materials, her practice investigates the continuous mutations within the industrial production chain of images, a perpetual development that leads to an abstraction of reality. Her work has been presented at Tate Modern, Palais de Tokyo, the 12th Berlin Biennale and several festivals, such as Berlinale, IFFR, European Media Art Festival, Indie Lisboa, receiving numerous awards.
