Camila Santos

Camila Santos is a visual artist and animator based in São Paulo, Brazil. With a degree in Audiovisual Production Technology, she works at the junction between visual arts and audiovisual, creating video art and experimental films in stop motion animation.
Her work includes the animations "Útero" (2020), produced for the Stop Motion Video Art Exhibition (MVSM), "Martírio" (2021), held at the Pink Umbrellas.SP Festival, and "Arca animal" (2022), selected for A Arca Digital dos Possíveis Futuros by the UFRJ Aesthetics and Politics Laboratory. In 2021, she was awarded an award in the Mostra Vidas Femininas (Female Lives Exhibition) by the Museu da Pessoa for her animation and editing of Marina Mendes Rocha's life story.

Camila also dedicates herself to illustration and painting, investigating the potential of female bodies. All of her production deals with themes such as sexuality, intimacy, oppression and female resistance, expanding her narrative limits to highlight and dramatize everything from the most basic instincts to the most complex social relationships and impositions.
