“Online Bodies” seeks to explore the manifestation of the body in virtual spaces. The film consists of seven short, non-causal parts, each showing a different angle of the online body. The film moves through bodies in transition: a deepfake porn actor, a 3D model who wants to be reproduced, a group of genetically modified humans living inside an alien, four friends discussing cyborg modifications, a body that cannot climb an escalator. Collectively, they highlight the space between the physical and the virtual.

Mischa Dols
I was born in Amsterdam in 1996. After working in the Dutch film industry for several years, I moved to Brussels in 2017 to attend the LUCA (Sint-Lukas) art school. Here in Brussels I have been exploring the artistic side of filmmaking, making short films and installations. In 2019, I received a fine arts scholarship at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul, where I developed a broader intermedia approach to filmmaking during my 5-month stay. I am currently developing my experimental film practice, where I try to converge cinema and online visual languages.
