The English Cemetery in Bahia was opened in 1814, and is reserved for the burial of citizens of English origin and their descendants living in the Brazilian state of Bahia. In light of the health tragedy that has been occurring in the country since the beginning of 2020, two men born in Bahia, one black and the other mixed race, are undergoing a DNA test in search of discovering possible English ancestry, so that they can “qualify” for a future burial in the cemetery with the most beautiful view of the city.
