Rodrigo Antonio

Rodrigo Antonio is from Pará, has a master's degree in arts, is a filmmaker, and has a degree in History (UFPA) and Audiovisual Production (EICTV). He has produced short fiction and documentary films with an international career and recognition, as well as web series, music videos, educational documentaries, and a television series. The highlights include the short films Nada ni nadie (2015); Gaiola (2017), A Promessa de Iracema (2019), and Portugal Pequeno (2020), which were shown at festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand F.Festival, Málaga Film Festival, and Durban Film Festival. He was part of the executive production team for the feature films Sol Alegria (Tavinho Teixeira, 2018), Pequeno Mal (Lucas Camargo & Nicholas Thomé, 2018), and Fôlego (Renato Sircilli, 2018). He has experience as a curator and reviewer of laboratories, sectoral notices and market spaces such as DoccoLabs (Colombia), Nordestelab (Salvador-BA); Diáspora Conecta (Cachoeira-BA), Cinefest Gato Preto (Lorena-SP), Marahulab (Belém-PA) and public notices. He was a professor in the Cinema and Audiovisual course at UFPA, Belém/PA (2018-2020), and is pursuing his master's degree in the Postgraduate Program in Arts at the same institution. He develops studies and consultancy for projects on social impact production. He was the creator and coordinator of Matapi-Mercado Audiovisual do Norte (2018-2020). He was a member of Berlinale Talents Guadalajara 2019 and 2021 and Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires 2021. General Director of Climate Story Lab Amazonia by Doc Society (2021); he was General Director of the International Black Audiovisual Festival of Brazil, FIANB (2020-2022) and Executive President of the Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals – APAN (2021-2023).
