Chapter Three: Pacifies a Liar is part of an ongoing series of experimental shorts conceived as a guide to learning pottery through hypnotism. The film explores through dark psychological vignettes, like Russian dolls. A lecturer is interrupted by a commercial for a prosthetic glove. A scientist summons a carbon snake. An artist directs protégés in syncopated, rhythmic movements. As ideas emerge and reappear in temporal spirals, perceptual experience and the learning process become indistinguishable. Material and psychic space collapse and fold through a tattoo parlor, a parapsychology lab, and a skylight.
