Feature Film
Over the course of a year and a half, Jeff Zorrilla obsessively filmed scenes from his daily life during the pandemic. Although it quickly takes the form of a diary, the film also transforms into other forms, such as epistolary, but always through collage, through the superposition and juxtaposition of figures, colors and lights. Narrated from this melancholic and familiar sense given by the texture of 16mm paper, Lockdown Diaries explores fears, illusions, disillusionments and, above all, the great changes in the lives of Jeff and his family. From the uncertainty of that March of 2020, through a series of existential crises and finally arriving at a radical change in his life project, the film takes us, through a frenetic, consciously chaotic and, at the same time, intimate montage, into one of the many lives affected by these strange times, which we are still trying to discover.

Jeff Zorrilla is an independent filmmaker born in the United States in 1984. He received his BA in Film and Digital Media from the University of Santa Cruz, California. He then studied film at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, spending a year studying the Dogme 95 movement. After graduation, he moved to New York City, where he worked in all different aspects of the film industry. He worked as an assistant director on the film New York, I Love You, in distribution at ThinkFilms, and eventually worked in the exhibition department at Filmforum as a programming assistant.
