“In Search of Mount Analogue” travels across ocean and land, bringing to life the imagined, metaphorical and mysterious island of René Daumal’s 1952 novel Mount Analogue. The film uses 16mm film to capture computer-generated images that create an immersive landscape of Mount Analogue.

Leonardo Pirondi

Leonardo Pirondi was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He is a Portuguese-Brazilian filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California, creating experimental and documentary films that investigate ideas, events, and behaviors that exist within an imaginary and real world.

His films have been screened at Athens International Film and Video, REDCAT, Câmara Lúcida, Big Muddy, Brooklyn, Oak Cliff, Milwaukee Underground, San Diego Underground, Festival ECRÃ, and Pleasure Dome. He is an MFA candidate at the California Institute of the Arts.
