“Falling Joy” is based on an experience of being caught in a thunderstorm and compares it to an intense dance, which ends in a state of bliss.
The dance reminds me of the story of Shiva’s dance of bliss, which is a manifestation of the primordial rhythm that conveys higher truths and eternal values. It is said that through rhythm and the formation of consciousness, imbalances in the mind, body and perception can be resolved, creating balance, harmony and happiness.
The process deconstructs and manipulates images, field recordings and synthesised sounds to venture beneath the surface of things. This way of working heightens my awareness and connects me to the natural rhythms that shape a sense of being in this world.
