"The Earth is just a place. But it is not even a normal place, because most of the cosmos is empty. Normal is the vast and immense void, cold and universal, the eternal night of space in comparison with which the stars, its planets, already seem like something painfully rare and precious. If we were dropped at random into the cosmos, the probability of our appearing on the planet or even in its vicinity would be less than one part in a billion, billion, billion..."

Saskia, Bernardo Oliveira

SASKIA
Saskia is an artist. Both in terms of hearing and vision, she works with the various layers of art. In terms of audio; instrumentalist, beatmaker, performer, singer, composer. In terms of vision: director, screenwriter, cameraman, actress, photographer, and designer. Her compositions intertwine several genres and this versatility makes it difficult to fit her into just one. She uses samples, beats, instruments, and pedals to sing about personal and collective experiences. Her shows aim to take the audience on an experience of both dance and movement as well as introspection and hypnosis. She has already released her tracks through Hernia de Discos and NoN Worldwide. Her first studio album, “Pq”, released in 2019 by QTVlabel, was supported by Natura Musical. Recently, through Onda Mundial, she included the feat with South African producer Griffith Vigo - “Desce”, and soon after, through the same label, the feat with RHR - “Essa Daqui”. In 2020, Saskia entered the world of cinema and theater, starting with her first short film; “Outra Coisa.print” is a mix of poetry, photography, music and journalism. Her visual works are now featured on Batekoo (BA) with Radio TVSalada, and on QTV (RJ) with Matrix Pirata. She is a member of the Turmalina (RS) collective of black art, Curator at the ZonaExp label of futuristic music, and participant in the recent Anexo project to reorganize post-pandemic artistic production.
