Valentina Alvarado Matos

Valentina Alvarado Matos is a Venezuelan visual artist based in Barcelona. She studied Graphic Design at the University of Zulia, where she became a professor at the Faculty of Arts. She moved to Spain in 2014 to pursue a Masters in Arts at the University of Barcelona. Her works have been exhibited at the festivals Punto de Vista, Rotterdam, Oberhausen, (S8) Mostra de Cinema Periférico, Xcèntric and the San Francisco Cinematheque, among others. Earlier this year, she completed a residency at LIFT (Canada) as part of a scholarship from ACE Cultura and (S8). At the end of 2020, she exhibited the art installation Y si ver era el fuego alongside Carlos Vásquez Méndez, as part of the LOOP exhibition program at the Filmoteca de Cataluña.
