Caetano Gotthard

Caetano Gotardo graduated in Cinema from USP in 2003. He wrote and directed nine short films, including "Merencória" (2017), "O menino Japonês" (2009) and "Areia" (2008), all of which were shown at several Brazilian and international festivals. His first feature film, "O que se move" (2013), won awards such as best film at the Directors' Week and at Cineport - Portuguese-Speaking Countries Film Festival. His second feature film, "Seus osso e seus olhos" (2019) premiered at the Tiradentes Film Festival and the Rotterdam International Film Festival in January 2019, and continued to tour festivals such as IndieLisboa, in Portugal, and Viennale, in Austria. His third feature film, "Todos os Mortos" (2020), written and directed in partnership with Marco Dutra, premiered in the Official Competition of the Berlin Film Festival in February 2020. Also together with Marco Dutra, Caetano was the creator, general director and screenwriter of the series "Noturnos", shown in 2020 on Canal Brasil and available on Globoplay. He also wrote the screenplay for "O silêncio do céu" (2016), a feature film by Marco Dutra; edited "Trabalhar Cansa" (2011) and "As boas muitos muitos" (2017), both directed by Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra; Caetano is a member of the collective of filmmakers Filmes do Caixote, a group of filmmakers who constantly collaborate on each other's projects. In 2012, he released the poetry book "Matéria" (published by 7Letras), together with Marco Dutra and Carla Kinzo. He also works as a playwright, actor and director in theater, in plays such as "O barulho branco da palavra noite", "Seis da tarde" and in the scenic experiment "Bodas de Sangue", staged at Sesc Pompeia in 2016, in the Cinema Falado project.
