Motion Pictures For Wall Frames: Volume 1

Installation
Short Film
The work comprises six scenes, each featuring a different genre of photography or painting, interpreted through cinematic movement and duration. Eubanks shot the entirety of ‘Volume 1’ on 16mm film and edited it in-camera. Each scene is composed of a single fixed shot that reaches the Krasnogorsk-3 camera’s maximum length of 30 seconds. These sequences mimic early filmmaking techniques and the essence of a still image by eliminating camera movement, drawing focus solely to the movement captured by the camera.
It was part of an installation of the same name at the 3rd ECRÃ Festival, together with the paintings: Psique (2017) by Maria Antonia Souza (1992), Brazil; Descanso No Silêncio Da Consciência (1988) by Mitto Diaz (1958-1995) and Massê Llorden (1963), London; and 9847-2 (2015) by Elizabeth Marie James (1988), United States.
