In 2010, Jean-Luc Godard’s “Film Socialisme” explored the sinking of political ideals in Europe. In 2012, the Costa Concordia, which served as Godard’s allegorical platform, sank in front of the cameras of passengers and the world. In 2018, Paul Grivas in Disaster Film looks at footage of the disaster to revisit the filmmaking process of Godard, the director’s uncle.
