Virgil Widrich, born in 1967 in Salzburg, Austria, is the winner of more than 130 international film awards, including an Oscar nomination for his short film "Copywriter". He has been producing films since 1980 and is a reference for experimental films with and without animation. The ECRÃ Festival is honored to exhibit five works by Widrich that clearly demonstrate the tendency to combine animation techniques with approaches common to experimental cinema.
