Short Film
This silent black-and-white 16mm film examines a conventional furniture catalogue that contains slapdash photographs photographed and printed to look like films from the 1950s or earlier. The photographs are of staged rooms of imitation designer furniture, which are sold at a greatly reduced price in various catalogues by different manufacturers, but in the images they are indistinguishable from the originals. The film looks at page after page of objects, each exquisitely and exquisitely photographed, aware of the time it takes for desire to rise and then dissolve.
