Michael Karrer & Kim Allamand
Kim Allamand was born in Lucerne, Switzerland. He holds a Bachelor and a Master’s degree in Film Directing from Zurich University of the Arts. His first feature film FIRST DAYS had its world premiere at the 2026 Rotterdam Film Festival. His fiction short film HEART FRUIT premiered in Locarno, had its international premiere in San Sebastian both in 2022, and was part of the Future Frames program at Karlovy Vary in 2023. Heart Fruit won, among others, the German Film Critics’ Award at Filmfest Dresden, had a tv premiere on arte.tv before picked up by Nowness. His fiction short film TERMINAL premiered at Locarno in 2019, where it won the Best Swiss Newcomer Award and the Youth Jury Award. It went on to screen at numerous festivals and premiered online on ShortoftheWeek. He works as a writer, director and as a guest lecturer in Zurich.
Michael Karrer, born in 1992 in Bern, completed his Master of Arts in Feature Film
Directing at the Zurich University of the Arts in 2021. In 2023, Michael Karrer’s first
feature film BURNING FIRE celebrated its world premiere at the International Film
Festival Rotterdam and was subsequently screened and awarded at festivals
worldwide. In addition to his work as a director, Karrer works as an editor and as a
freelance lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts. He is also cofounder of
Sabotage Kollektiv, a production company that supports projects created under
socially and ecologically fair conditions.
